Official Antarctica Operation Deep Freeze McMurdo Station and Williams Field Patches

Official Antarctica Operation Deep Freeze McMurdo Station and Williams Field Patches — Polar Operations Embroidered Patch Set

Operation Deep Freeze — military support to the world's coldest, most remote continent.

Operation Deep Freeze is the codename for the U.S. military's logistical support mission to the United States Antarctic Program (USAP), providing airlift, cargo handling, and construction support to McMurdo Station and the surrounding research facilities including Williams Field (the ice runway). Military personnel — primarily from the U.S. Navy, Air Force, and Air National Guard — operate LC-130 Hercules ski-equipped aircraft and C-17 Globemasters to sustain Antarctic operations during the brief austral summer season. McMurdo Station is the largest Antarctic research station, and Williams Field is the ice runway that serves as the primary air gateway to the continent.

Perfect For:
Operation Deep Freeze veterans, McMurdo Station and Williams Field personnel, Antarctic support military members, LC-130 and C-17 polar crews, and polar operations patch collectors.

Deep Freeze. McMurdo. Williams Field. Antarctica.
